14A - halfway reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?

The behaviors that I have learned to keep up with the requirements for this course are mainly time management and responsibility. For the time management aspect of the course, I realized that I have to look at my assignments ahead of time to plan out my schedule. I handled this by purchasing a planner and writing down my weeks ahead of time. The responsibility aspect of the class was relatively easy to handle. I just have to make sure my assignments are posted on time and in the right place.

2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?

A moment in this class where I felt like giving up was when I realized I was submitting assignments with the wrong attached link. I did not receive credit for my first set of assignments and felt very discouraged. I pulled through because I realized there was still work to be done in the class and I have the capability of still doing well with my ideas. I feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude because I shoot to make my assignments meaningful.

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset'?

Tip one: Pick ideas that you truly care about. Writing about solutions that you have no attachment to will not be fun.

Tip two : Buy a planner. This class helps you become more organized in your entire life by assigning you specific due dates you must meet.

Tip three: Make friends through your blog mates. I have not met my blog mates in person yet but would like to do so, as it will give me a better perspective of where their ideas are coming from.

  1. Hi Ryan,

Time management skills in this course is something I would also say as the most important quality to have and use throughout the semester. I like how you mentioned that having a passion or care for what your writing about is very important. I also agree because we do a lot of researching, interviewing and analyzing about our business but if you do not actually care about what you’re looking for, I think the work could feel like a drag. Good job
